BrewSensai is a mobile app for tracking your coffee brewing. We keep things simple — we collect only what we need to run the app, we never sell your data, and we never show you ads.

When you create an account we store your email address and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
The core of the app — beans and brews you log are stored on our servers so you can access them across devices:
When you scan a coffee bag, your device takes a photo. The image is sent to Google's Gemini API so the AI can read the label, and a compressed copy is stored on BrewSensai's servers and linked to your bean record. You confirm that you took the photo yourself or that you have the right to use and share the image — see our Terms of Service for details. The image is deleted when you delete the bean or your account. Google may retain it according to their own privacy policy.
When you ask BrewSensai for brew advice or a recipe, we send relevant details about your bean and brew settings to Google's Gemini API to generate a response. No personally identifiable information (name, email) is included in these requests.
Every AI request is logged internally for moderation and usage-limit purposes. Logs include the prompt text (bean and brew details, no personal identifiers), the AI response, token counts, and a timestamp. Logs are linked to your account and are deleted when your account is deleted.
If your account is enabled for a personal API key, you can enter your own Gemini API key in Settings. The key is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and is only sent to our servers when you make an AI request — it is never stored on our servers.

We do not use advertising networks, analytics trackers, or any other third-party services that profile you.
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your beans, brews, and account details are permanently deleted from our servers. This cannot be undone.

BrewSensai is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date above and notify you by email if the change affects how we use your data.
